The Founder's Story: How I Built Luna Azul

Updated: May 8

The Founder's Story is a webinar series where the founders of I/DD communities share their founding stories including their vision, findings, insights and takeaways in building their communities for their loved ones with I/DD.

Mark Roth founded Luna Azul (Click for aerial video), America's first for-sale residential community for adults with disabilities located in Phoenix, Arizona.  At Luna, residents can live safely and comfortably in a loving, inclusive and nurturing environment within a small, gated neighborhood managed by an experienced on-site director.

Mr. Roth began practicing at a boutique corporate/securities law firm before becoming General Counsel to a publicly traded diversified financial services company. Later he co-founded a registered investment adviser, helping grow it from $0 to over $1B in assets under management. Mr. Roth left his practice to shepherd the financing, design and construction of an Arizona neighborhood housing adults with disabilities. He returned to practice, again serving businesses and financial services participants in all aspects structure, formation, operations, compliance and regulation. Today, Mr. Roth is also focused on helping families, with and without disabilities, create comprehensive estate and incapacity plans.
