About the Event
We are excited to welcome back Melissa Harris from the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services as she will share the latest updates on CMS's HCBS regulation and implementation with a focus on "isolating settings" and the Heightened Scrutiny process. Ms. Harris will also reiterate the role of states in making decisions about the implementation of the HCBS regulation.
Ms. Harris has been with CMS since the summer of 1995, and is currently the Deputy Director for the Disabled and Elderly Health Programs Group (DEHPG). Prior to this role, Ms. Harris was a Senior Policy Advisor in DEHPG, developing and implementing a myriad of policies advancing home and community-based services as an alternative to institutional placement.
